I am so sorry to hear of the death of Elva. The passing away of a loved one is always with much sorrow. May we have faith and confidence in the Bible's promise of a time when pain, sickness and death are a thing of the past (Revelation 21:3, 4). My condolences are with the family at this difficult time.

On behalf of the Société de Police - IPD Adam & Edward, our condolences are presented to the family and friends of Elva Mae Brakensiek, on learning of her taking leave from this Earthly life she journeyed over 83 years. A gracious and kind person to all, Elva went on to her Home-Going 28 Dec.

Elva came to be a member of the IPD circle on 5 Sep 67 when she became a sworn law enforcement officer of the Indianapolis Police Department. Elva served proudly until her time of retirement on 28 Feb 99.

It was written: "There are amazingly wonderful people in all walks of life; some familiar to us and others not. Stretch yourself and really get to know people. People are in many ways one of our greatest treasures." Many remain ever blessed to have crossed paths with the treasure Elva was.

At this point of Earthly separation, those who remain surely will join in this prayer for Elva's everlasting being in peace: Eternal Rest grant unto Elva Mae Brakensiek, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Fare the well, our Dear Sister!

I worked with Elva when I was a civilian in the Identification branch of the police department (old I.P.D.). She helped me to learn how to classify fingerprints the old fashion way.Was always nice to me. Rest in peace Elva.
