A brief marriage to Albert Thornton blessed her with a daughter, Donna Jean.  Her second marriage was to Oscar Pryor and her second daughter, Cheryl Ann was born.  Alma became a stay-at-home mom and "executive" babysitter for many, many young children.  After the death of her husband, Oscar, in 1968, Alma continued babysitting for many years.

In her leisure time, Alma enjoyed walking with her girlfriends, traveling, playing bingo, bowling, playing cards and listening to Blues music. Reading Danielle Steel novels was a favorite past-time, as well as word-search books.

Alma accepted Jesus as her savior early in life.  Her beloved parents and three sisters - Mattie Johnson, Leontine Houston and Ruby Harding all preceded her in death.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters- Cheryl A. Sharp and Donna J. Turner; three grandchildred- Donna R. Turner, Charles A. Edwards, Jr., and Kevin L. Cheryl,

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I loved Miss Alma dearly. C-Wing is not the same without her sitting down there in the hallway waiting for you to come get her. But, just know that she is now in the presence of the Almighty God and we all will see her again!
