Archie Roy Curtis “Curt” Dobbins, Jr. Passed early the morning of Saturday June 22, 2019 at his residence in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on October 28,1944 in Norfolk Virginia to the late Archie Roy Curtis, and Margaret Louise (Mosley) Dobbins, Sr. Curt was also preceded in death by his former wife Sharon F.(Thomas) Dobbins and infant sister Dobbins and his loveable pet yorkie "Little Bit".
He retired from Chrysler as a buyer in 1994 and was a veteran Sergeant in the United States Airforce serving in England during the Vietnam Era. After retirement he worked for Now Courrier as a driver and Shirley Brothers Mortuary as a driver and greeter, also many years was a security guard "Yellow Shirt" at Indy 500 in Speedway for the races, and was a Ham radio operator and CB radio with the nickname of "Quick Silver". He was a past member of the American Legion Post 495 and their Legion Riders. He also was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and rode in the Veterans Day Parade for many years. At present he was a Member of American Legion Post 276 Beech Grove, Indiana.
Curt had many hobbies and love all auto racing especially NASCAR, flying model airplanes, motorcycles especially his 1800 Gold Wings. Curt and Vicky spent many Friday nights at the
American Legion Post 276 singing Karaoke, which was entertaining to all.
Survivors: Loving wife: Vicky Lynn (Freels) Dobbins(Married 2/8/2007 in LasVegas NV); daughter: Cheryl Warren; step-daughter: Kelly Lucid(Paul) Meek;
step-son: Stephen(Christine);Lucid; sisters: Brenda(Ralph) Walton, Kathryne(Robert)Faenzi and Tamara Milam; 9 grandchildren; mother-in-law: Dolores Freels; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Marion National Cemetery in Marion Indiana at 2:00 p.m. with Military Honors.
Celebration of Curt’s Life will be held after the burial at American Legion Post 355. Indianapolis, Indiana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 25,2019.
