Darla Smith Obituary

Darla Jean (Jaynes) Smith, 69, of Indianapolis passed away and gained her angelic wings on January 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 10,1953, to the late Robert D. Jaynes and Donna L Jaynes.  She retired from Community Hospital East in 2018. Worked as a Pulmonary department. She enjoyed various types of music and movies; she was big fan of Steven King's work and loved chatting online. She also loved spending time with her cat "Titten".

Darla is survived by her daughters Vanessa Hamann (Jim), and Jennifer Davis. Sister Cheryl Creech (Ron). Grandchildren Duane Bowman, Jon Bowman, Kayla Ropp, and Jimmy Morefield. Niece Sheri Bolen, nephews Bobby and Michael Gross. Stepmother Vivian Jaynes. Stepsisters Brenda Neighbors, Sissy Hamilton (Bob), Wonda Sayer (Gary) and Stepbrother Gary Elsay (Beth). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her great granddaughter Jayda Bowman.

Per her wishes she will be cremated with no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will take place near her birthday in July. A time of story sharing and candlight remembrance will be part of the Celebration of Life Service. If you would like to honor her memory it has become known that she requested " The Dance" by Garth Brooks, be played.
