Deborah Skaggs Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" Sue Skaggs of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of Monday, May 31, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 69.

Debbie was born on January 14, 1952 in Indianapolis to the late Casey Jack Adams, Mary Adams and Carolyn Sue Monroe.

Debbie was a Q&A at Bethany Village for many years, and was a member of the First Apostolic Church.

She just loved singing karaoke, and collecting anything she could that was Coca Cola affiliated.

She loved and adored her grandchildren and spending all the time she could with them.

She was a huge Elvis fan, and loved listening to him sing.

Debbie loved hamburgers, but her favorite sandwich was a peanut butter and jelly, and you better have had one waiting for her when she came around.

Debbie is survived by Daniel Raymond Rice, (father of her children); her children, Shana (Charles) Walton, Carolyn (Daniel) Thompson, Daniel (Dawn) Rice, and Melissa (Ballard) Bryant; siblings, Phyllis Tanner Tonya Baker, Marsha Powell, Jackie Prange, Silvia Settles, Marty, Jim, Becky Monroe Jones; 19 grandchildrens; 18 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was proceded in death by her former husband Ronald Skaggs; her parents, Casey Jack Adams and Carolyn Sue Monroe, Mary Ann Adams: several siblings; one niece, and two nephews.

Funeral Services for Debbie will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at Grinsteiner Funeral Home, with Pastor Ryan Lopez officiating.

Calling will be the same day from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m.

Donations can be made directly to the funeral home by phone, in person or through the website to help offset funeral expenses to the family.
