Gene DeWayne Dotts I, 65, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on June 22, 2021, at Eskenazi Hospital. He was born October 22, 1955, in Indianapolis to the late James and Rosemary Dotts.
Gene was a member of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. He graduated from Washington High School and continued his schooling at ITT Technical Institute. Gene had a career as a specialist at Budget Floor Covering for over thirty years. He loved to help anyone, and everyone, he also enjoyed making people smile and laugh. Gene loved spending time with his family. He collected Eagles and American Flag’s. Gene was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to go fishing, hiking, or anything that had to do with nature. Although he had many things that made him happy, Dad’s life was all about his family.
Gene is survived by his sons Gene II, Johnathan, Nick Dotts; daughter Heather J. Dotts; girlfriend Diana Sample; stepsons Ronnie and Zach Sample; stepdaughters Dawn Michelle and Sunshine Copas. But no matter who you were, if you were lucky enough to meet our father, he would always treat you like you were one of his own children and his former wife Kimberly of 18 years who he loved dearly.. He is preceded in passing by parents James and Rosemary Dotts; brother Mark A. Dotts; sister Vera Jean Waldron; and angel grandbabies.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Gene at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021, until 5:00 p.m. at Eagle Creek State Park, Shelter A. Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center will be assisting in the arrangements.
